The 5th (2014) ‘Valencia Danza’ International Dance Campus is now underway. This is a top-level training space organised by the ADAM dance association, in collaboration with the Hortensia Herrero Foundation.
A total of 98 students from all over Spain are taking part in this meeting, which opened on Monday 18 August, and will continue until 29 August in the facilities of La Petxina Cultural and Sports Complex. This is a fully consolidated campus on its fifth edition, as evidenced by the fact that the number of applications (many of which came from foreign countries) was higher than the number of vacancies available. 47 of the 98 participants are accommodated in the residence of La Petxina.
Students have been organised in three levels for each of the classes under the direction of Gema Casino Penalba. The teaching staff is made up by professionals Elena Glurjidze, Emmanuelle Bronci, Emerald Maycas, Benito Marcelino, Fabrice Edelmann and José Carlos Blanco.
The advanced level provides for the participation of professionals who are currently being part of dance companies. This is the case of Valencian dancers that take the opportunity to get back to full fitness before returning to their respective companies (such as the Junior Ballet München, Ballet Chemnitz, Ballet de Lausanne, Ballet de Teatres de la Generalitat, and Nuremberg Ballet, among others).
The ‘Valencia Danza’ International Dance Campus will finish on 29 August, with the Closing Gala, which will be performed at the Auditorium in Ribarroja, where students will be able to show the result of their work during the campus.
